Soft Machine: We Did It Again (audio)
From the first Soft Machine lp, when they were opening for Jimi Hendrix Experience - an amazing and innovative band, about 20 yrs ahead of their time and so much better than Pink Floyds elevator muzak.. According to Rolling Stone, drummer/vocalist Robert Wyatt could sing along to any John Coltrane solos!

Ricky Lee Jones - Rainbow Sleeves (audio)
my favorite composition of Tom Waits, done as no one else can..
Lyrics:
You used to dream yourself away each night
To places that you'd never been
On wings made of wishes
That you whispered to yourself
Back when every night the moon and you
Would sweep away to places
That you knew
Where you would never get the blues
Well now, whiskey gives you wings
To carry
Each one of your dreams
And the moon does not belong to you
But I believe
That your heart keeps young dreams
Well, I've been told
To keep from ever growing old
And a heart that has been broken
Will be stronger when it mends
Don't let the blues stop you singing
Darling, you've only got a broken wing
Hey, you just hang on to my rainbow
Hang on to my rainbow
Hang on to my rainbow sleeves

Photek: T'rainon
PHOTEK did the awesome soundtrack for the 2006 film Dreamland, which I haven't been able to find online (the soundtrack cd that is.. the film is pretty good but the music would be played a lot more in my house)

Tuxedo Junction: Begin the Beguine
A little pop perhaps, but an interesting big band version of the Cole Porter classic, with a Brazilian beat.. (or is it a rhumba, therefore Cuban?) [hey - are Astaire and Powell making fart sounds with their hands in the film still shown above?? LOL..]
